Ørigin Saunas

Legal information

Terms and conditions of sale

Last updated: September 2026.

Purpose

These terms govern the sale of outdoor saunas and the associated services (delivery, installation) by Ørigin. No sale is concluded online: the website lets you obtain a quotation, which is then finalised with an adviser.

Prices

Prices are shown in euros and include VAT, and they are the same in France, Belgium and Luxembourg. The price shown covers the sauna, the heater you choose and installation, the latter at a fixed package price of 5 445 € incl. VAT. That package covers assembly, the installation of a separate Ørigin electrical panel with a circuit breaker dedicated to the sauna; the connection of the heater system (heating), pulling the cable through an existing conduit up to 15 m; it does not cover the slab or foundation, ground preparation, any trenching or the laying of a new conduit, nor transport, all of which can be handled under a separate quotation. Options (decorative wall, LED pack, accessory kit) are charged in addition. Transport is added to the price shown: there is no fixed price list for it, and it depends on your location, when you book and the availability of the model. The firm quotation is what counts.

Order and payment

The order is confirmed once the quotation has been accepted.

  • A 50% deposit on ordering: fully refundable. A deposit of 50% of the total price including VAT is payable when this contract is signed. It secures the sauna with the manufacturer and allows delivery to be scheduled. The deposit is refunded in full, with no fees or penalty, if the customer cancels the order at any time before delivery, for whatever reason. It is also refunded in full if Ørigin does not deliver within the lead times confirmed in the quotation, or if Ørigin decides not to proceed with the order following the feasibility check.
  • The refund is made no later than 14 days after the cancellation request is received, using the same means of payment as for the original payment, unless the customer expressly agrees to another means, and at no cost to the customer.
  • The 50% balance of the total price including VAT is due no later than the day of delivery, before the sauna is unloaded. No other payment is requested before delivery.
  • Means of payment: Payments are made by bank transfer.

Delivery & lead times

Saunas are made to order in Estonia and delivered in around 9 weeks (10 before first use, installation included). Lead times are indicative and confirmed in the quotation.

Warranty

The structure carries a 24-month warranty (materials and workmanship) from commissioning, and the Huum heater a 36-month warranty, in addition to the statutory guarantees. Any visible defect must be reported within 7 days.

Right of withdrawal

Principle and time limit

You have 14 days to withdraw from this contract without giving any reason. This period expires 14 days after the day on which you, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you, take physical possession of the sauna. You may exercise this right as soon as the contract is concluded, without waiting for delivery.

How to exercise your right

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision by an unequivocal statement, by email to info@originsaunas.com. You may use the model form in Annex 1, but it is not obligatory. To meet the deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication before the period has expired. Ørigin will send you an acknowledgement of receipt on a durable medium without delay.

Withdrawal before delivery

Your order is cancelled and Ørigin refunds all sums paid, deposit included, no later than 14 days after being informed of your decision, using the same means of payment and at no cost to you.

Withdrawal after delivery

  • Refund. Ørigin refunds all payments received, including delivery costs, no later than 14 days after being informed of your decision, less, where applicable, the return costs set out below. Ørigin may withhold the refund until the sauna has been collected.
  • Collection of the sauna. Ørigin itself arranges the dismantling and removal of the sauna within 14 days of your withdrawal, on a date agreed with you; you undertake to give access to the site.
  • Direct costs of return. The direct costs of the return are borne by you: dismantling the sauna, electrical disconnection, re-crating and return transport. They are invoiced at actual cost, with supporting documents, up to an estimated maximum of 2 000 € incl. VAT. If the sauna has not yet been installed, only the re-crating and return transport costs apply, up to 1 000 € incl. VAT.

Exception: made-to-measure sauna

The right of withdrawal does not apply to a sauna made to the customer’s own specifications, outside the Ørigin catalogue models and options (for example, custom dimensions). This exception applies only if it is expressly stated in the order summary and accepted by the customer before signing. In that case, the deposit remains fully refundable before delivery, in accordance with the “Order and payment” section.

Contract of sale, delivery and installation

Applicable to customers residing in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland.

Please read all of the sections below, which form an integral part of your contract of sale.

Section 1: Electrical responsibilities

1.1 The electrical connection of the sauna up to an Ørigin electrical panel is included in your order

Your Ørigin purchase includes, as standard, the supply and installation of your sauna’s electrical connection up to the Ørigin electrical panel, carried out by a qualified electrician who is an Ørigin partner. This service includes:

  • Installing a separate Ørigin electrical panel with a circuit breaker dedicated to the sauna;
  • Connecting the heater system (temperature sensor, main module, control panel and associated wiring), in accordance with the manufacturer’s manuals.

1.2 Cabling distance and additional charges

The distance between the existing electricity meter and the sauna location included in your installation package is 15 metres. Beyond this distance, additional charges per linear metre of extra cable apply, at the current rate communicated before work begins. We therefore recommend sending us an estimate of this distance as soon as you plan your order.

1.3 What is NOT included

Our electrical installation package does not include:

  • The direct power supply (with the required power and amperage) from your existing panel, available to allow the dedicated Ørigin electrical panel to be connected;
  • Administrative arrangements with your electricity supplier to adjust your connection and your supply contracts so that they can support the operation of Ørigin Saunas electrical equipment;
  • Trenching work (buried cable, earthworks, surface reinstatement);
  • Concealing, recessing or drilling work in walls, ceilings, floors or partitions.

If such a passage is required to connect the meter to the sauna, it is your responsibility to have an empty conduit fitted with a draw wire (“fish tape”) installed before our team arrives, so that our electrician can pull the cable through it without any construction work. Failing this, the electrical installation may be postponed and additional charges or a supplementary quotation may apply.

1.4 Use and compliance of the existing distribution board

Our electrician uses your property’s existing meter and distribution board to install the circuit breaker dedicated to the sauna. By signing this contract, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • The distribution board must comply with the standards in force in your country (in particular the NF C 15-100 standard in France, the RGIE in Belgium, the ITM regulations in Luxembourg, or the OIBT/NIN standards under the supervision of ESTI in Switzerland) and have the space, capacity and amperage needed for the work;
  • Ørigin cannot be held liable for an overall electrical failure related to the existing general electrical installation at the connection point, nor for any upgrade costs that may prove necessary to bring the distribution board into compliance;
  • If our electrician finds on site a non-compliance that prevents safe, regulation-compliant work, the sauna installation may be suspended until the distribution board has been brought into compliance by an electrician of your choice, at your expense, without this engaging Ørigin’s liability.

1.5 Mandatory information on the type of power supply

It is your responsibility to tell us, before the installation is scheduled, whether the power supply available at your property is single-phase (230 V) or three-phase (400 V). A connection that is poorly anticipated because of missing or incorrect information may lead to the installation being postponed, as well as additional travel or rescheduling charges.

1.6 Feasibility check before the work

Before the installation is finally scheduled, Ørigin (or its partner electrician) may ask for photos, videos or further information about your existing distribution board, its location and the distance to the sauna, in order to confirm technical feasibility, estimate the additional cabling charges (see 1.2) and anticipate the need for a conduit (see 1.3).

1.7 Voltage requirements

Ørigin saunas run by default on the standard 230 V single-phase supply. If your heater or accessories require a 400 V three-phase supply, you must inform Ørigin before your order is finalised, bearing in mind that additional costs and lead times may apply. In all cases, it is your responsibility to consult the manual of the product purchased; our electrician will confirm the exact electrical requirements on site before installation.

Section 2: Site preparation & foundation

2.1 Base and foundation: not included

The Ørigin installation does not include building the slab, platform or foundation on which the sauna stands. The site must be fully ready, level and stable when our team arrives. You understand that the sauna must be installed on a base that is:

  • Level;
  • Stable and solid.

Recommended materials: concrete, paving, stone, treated timber or composite platform, outdoor tiling, indoor concrete (excluding an unprepared hardwood floor).

2.2 Recommended slab size

We recommend a slab or base that extends at least 60 cm beyond the sauna’s footprint on each side, to make installation and future maintenance of the unit easier.

  • If additional accessories are to be installed on the same slab (e.g. bench, storage, lighting, furniture), it is your responsibility to provide a surface large enough to accommodate them;
  • If more circulation space is wanted, for example in front of the sauna door, allow extra clearance at that point.

This minimum 60 cm clearance also corresponds to the working space our team needs during installation (see Section 3.4).

2.3 Site access: your responsibility

You acknowledge that it is entirely your responsibility to make sure that:

  • All parts of the sauna can pass through doors, corridors, stairs, gates and outdoor passages;
  • There is enough space and headroom for assembly;
  • The access path is clear of snow, ice, obstacles or bulky items.

2.4 Consequences of poor site preparation

If the sauna cannot be delivered or installed because of a lack of access, an inadequate or unlevel base, or failure to meet the requirements of Section 3:

  • You will be liable for the costs of additional travel and/or redelivery;
  • Or for restocking and handling fees equal to 25% of the order value, in addition to the applicable return and re-crating costs.

2.5 Permits and planning regulations

It is your responsibility to check with your municipality, town hall or competent authority the planning rules, building permits, prior declarations or co-ownership regulations applicable in your country (France, Belgium, Luxembourg or Switzerland), and to make sure that installing a sauna is permitted on your property before the scheduled installation date.

Section 3: Delivery and installation

Your Ørigin order includes, as standard, delivery and full installation of the sauna. To ensure a safe and efficient installation, the following must be in place before our team arrives.

3.1 Access for the delivery lorry

  • The site must be completely clear and accessible for a flatbed lorry of at least 19 tonnes, used to deliver the equipment.
  • It must be possible to set down the crate containing the sauna less than 25 metres from the final assembly location. If the distance between the lorry’s possible drop-off point and the assembly location exceeds 25 metres, additional handling charges will apply (labour, specialist equipment).
  • If adequate access is impossible (street too narrow, no parking, local restrictions, etc.), it is your responsibility to inform us before delivery so that possible solutions and the associated costs can be assessed.

3.2 Scheduling the installation week

  • You will be told the planned week for your installation in advance.
  • The exact day or days of work will be confirmed with 48 hours’ notice.
  • You must therefore provide full access to the site at all times throughout the scheduled week, including outside the day or days finally confirmed.

3.3 Prior signature required

No installation will be scheduled or carried out until this contract has been signed by the customer.

3.4 Working space and surroundings

  • Please reserve a parking space for our team, ideally close to the installation location.
  • Allow at least 60 cm of clear space all around the sauna to make handling and assembly easier (see also the slab size recommendation in Section 2.2).
  • The pedestrian access path must be clear (free of snow, obstacles or bulky items).

3.5 Circumstances that may lead to postponement

We are not responsible for installation delays or postponements resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, in particular:

  • Delays or incidents on the carrier’s side;
  • Adverse weather conditions (heavy rain, strong wind, extreme cold or heat, black ice, snow);
  • Unforeseen access restrictions or decisions by local authorities;
  • Any other event of force majeure.

If installation is postponed for one of these reasons, a new date will be offered as soon as possible, with no additional charges attributable to Ørigin.

3.6 Delivery appointment and storage fees

When we contact you to schedule the installation week, you must confirm your availability within three (3) days. If you postpone or refuse the appointment for a reason not covered by Section 3.5, storage fees may be invoiced, payable by you; the order will only be released for installation once these fees have been paid.

3.7 Liability relating to third-party contractors

If you have yourself hired a contractor, decorator or any other service provider whose work must come before or after our installation, it is your sole responsibility to coordinate the schedules, taking into account possible variations in estimated delivery times. Ørigin cannot be held liable for any costs, fees, penalties or damages resulting from the scheduling, cancellation or postponement of services provided by third parties.

Section 4: Warranty and cooperation in troubleshooting

4.1 Mandatory cooperation for warranty claims

You undertake to cooperate fully with the troubleshooting steps before any warranty intervention, including in particular:

  • Providing photos and videos;
  • Checking the electrical connections made during installation;
  • Reading the error codes shown by the heater or the control panel;
  • Any other test reasonably requested by Ørigin.

4.2 Understanding the limits of the warranty

You understand that without cooperation in troubleshooting, Ørigin cannot diagnose the problem and the warranty intervention may be delayed or suspended. Any unauthorised modification of the sauna, the heater or its original electrical components voids the applicable warranty and releases Ørigin from all liability for any resulting damage, malfunction or safety issue.

Section 5: Regulatory provisions by territory

The following paragraphs distinguish, where necessary, the rules applicable in France, Belgium and Luxembourg (members of the European Union) from those applicable in Switzerland (outside the European Union), whose legal framework differs, in particular with regard to consumer law, data protection and VAT.

5.1 Legal guarantee of conformity

France, Belgium, Luxembourg

Independently of any commercial warranty offered by Ørigin or the manufacturer, you benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity provided for by the law applicable in your country of residence, i.e. a minimum of two (2) years from delivery for consumer goods, in accordance with Directive (EU) 2019/771 and its national transposition (in particular the Consumer Code in France, the Code of Economic Law in Belgium, and the equivalent legislation in Luxembourg).

Switzerland

In accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations (art. 197 et seq. CO), you benefit from a legal warranty against hidden defects in the product, whose contractual duration and terms will be specified in your order confirmation, as Swiss law allows certain contractual adjustments to this warranty that differ from the European regime.

In all cases, this legal guarantee covers any lack of conformity existing at the time of delivery, regardless of exclusions relating to installation or site preparation that does not comply with these terms.

5.2 Value added tax (VAT)

The price shown on your order includes the VAT applicable at the rate in force in your country of delivery at the time of invoicing (for guidance: 20% in France, 21% in Belgium, 17% in Luxembourg and 8.1% in Switzerland, the latter VAT system being separate from the European Union’s harmonised system). Ørigin reserves the right to adjust the amount of VAT invoiced if the applicable rate is changed by law between order and delivery.

5.3 Personal data protection

France, Belgium, Luxembourg

The personal data provided under this contract are processed by Ørigin in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU 2016/679) and our privacy policy.

Switzerland

The personal data of customers residing in Switzerland are processed in accordance with the Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) and our privacy policy.

In all cases, this processing covers in particular handling your order, scheduling delivery and installation, and warranty follow-up. You have the right of access, rectification, erasure and objection, which you can exercise by contacting us.

5.4 Applicable law and dispute resolution

Unless mandatory provisions to the contrary in the consumer law of your country of residence apply (which prevail in the event of conflict), this contract is governed by the law of the country of delivery. In the event of a dispute, and before any legal action, the parties will endeavour to reach an amicable solution.

  • In France: the consumer may refer the matter to an approved consumer mediator;
  • In Belgium: the Consumer Mediation Service (Service de Médiation pour le Consommateur) is the competent body;
  • In Luxembourg: the competent national mediation bodies may be approached;
  • In Switzerland: the parties may, where applicable, refer the matter to a sector-specific mediation body; failing an amicable agreement, the competent Swiss courts retain sole jurisdiction.
